Not-So-Thanksgiving Party
Every year Kim and I host a Not-So-Thanksgiving Party the Saturday after TurkeyDay. Food, Friends and Fun.

Unfortunately, unless we can raise at least $250 by Tuesday (i need it in my hands by then for to do the shopping and shtuffs) we are going to have to cancel it. Due the the crap ass economy, Kim and i cannot afford to do it alone this year. Between the 2 of us, we spend $500 or more on food, drinks and the like every year for this. This year is a total no go, according to my bank account and Kims poor tooth. So, if you are wanting this to go on as planned we are going to need your help funding it this year. This is a call out to all those people who show up every year and know just how good of a time we have.
Help save our favorite holiday!!!

If you have any available funds to donate to this most wonderful cause, send me a message or comment on this post. If i get enough pledges to add up to the $250 or more, i will start collecting the actual cash.

Copy this sentence into your livejournal if you're in a heterosexual marriage, and you don't want it "protected" by the bigots who think that gay marriage hurts it somehow.

Leather
Today at approx 12:15pm, we had to have our wonderful dog, Leather, put to sleep. He was only 7 1/2 years old. He had a habit of eating things he shouldnt, which cause him to have blockages which resulted in surgery to remove them. Because of the surgeries, his intestines werent in very good shape. He ate something that possibly irritated and inflamed his intestines causing them to loop in and around themselves and fuse together in a large mass. Food could not pass through this jumbled mess. He began coughing a few days ago, but continued eating and acting fine. Thursday evening he started throwing up, that continued all day friday. Worried, we brought him to the vet today, only to find out the horrible news.

He was a wonderful pet. Loving, loyal and happy. I miss my cuddle buddy already.

My heart hurts.

Sad News
Safe Harbor Animal Rescue in Jupiter suffered from a rather debilitating fire last night.  14 cats died in the blaze, but most of the animals were rescued safely. They are in dire need of help, however.  In the form of adoption, fostering or donations.

www.safeharboranimalrescue.com to donate, or call  (561) 747-5311 for directions to the parking lot where they have set up a makeshift adoption center.

Tiny Black Kitten
Is stalking me.

Ok, not really, but he/she/it is sitting in my back yard meowing at my Huge Black Cat.  Very skittish, but im going to try to work on that.  Maybe 10-12 weeks old.  All black, i think. I started feeding him/her/it today, and will continue to do so, while trying to earn trust.

Anyone interested in a kitten?  He/she/it obviously likes other cats, as he/she/it is trying to get my cat to play.  They are seperated by a screened porch.  I havent seen any scratching, but since it is a stray, he/she/it probably has fleas and who knows what else (worms, mites and chiggers, oh my!). I dont want to bring him/her/it to a shelter/pound yet, because of the overflow of cats and kittens already there, im afraid this one would get put down for not being very socialized and easily adoptable.  If anyone is interested, let me know.

BTW, only locals (south Florida) who can come pick up said kitten, please.  Im not shipping it anywhere.

Oh yes, it rocks.  The commentary is hilarious.

(laughs hysterically)

I would lick it for hours.

Turkey Day recap
Well, the annual Saturday After Thanksgiving Day party has come and gone. A success again this year. We counted a total of 44 people throughout the day. There was a ton of food (and not much left overs, just a bit of stuffing and a few pieces of turkey).  And Pie.  There are still 5 pies in my fridge.   Anyone want a pumpkin pie???  There was food and wine and friends and fun and family and hanging out and i dont think everyone was properly marking their head bangings on the dry erase board.   I heard a bunch more cursing than there are marks for. Got to see people i havent seens in years. Got to cook and eat good food.  self medicated for my hip while cooking. Mmmmm wine....

reminder: make sure someone buys Nessa a tomtom for the holidays

There was talk of the beach afterwards, but with all the excitement and exhaustion finally catching up with me, i decided against it, and it looks as if everyone else did as well.

Hope everyone else had as good a time as i did!

Thanks for coming!

Again next year?

Furbabies
So, today at 3:15 i have an appt at my Vets office to get 2 of my ferrets checked out. (i have 4, total). Puck, my albino, is rapidly becoming a bald ass.  Literally, the fur on his back end and tail is thinning.  He is only a few months old.  Worries me some.  None of the others are showing any symptoms.  Anastasia, the newest furbaby, is going in for her first check up and to make sure she isnt carting around anything icky.  Will have pics up soonish.

What. The. Fuck.
Ok, so i very rarely, if ever, get trapped by anyone for a religious conversation. Let alone complete strangers in line at the local home depot where i went to buy painting supplies to paint what will be the new office. Yay for blood red walls!

Anyways, Hubby wanders off to go look at ladders (its a ladder.. what do you need to look at it for??) while i wait in the check out line. Some random guy gets in line behind and say hello, how are you. I say im fine. Yadda yadda, you know, all the polite stuff strangers are SUPPOSED to say to one another. He then proceeds to tell me how great he feels after the jewish holiday and how its like confession times 1000. He then asked me if i have gone to confession recently. Um, no, i reply, i am not catholic. He asks my religion (who the fuck asks a complete stranger their religious beliefs while standing in the home depot check out lane??) and i respond Wiccan, thinking that it will scare him off and he will leave me alone (no offense to any Wiccans out there, but you know as well as i do people tend to be scared of what they dont know/understand). *sigh* It didnt scare him away. He asked me a ton of questions about it, and thankfully i know enough to give vague answers. He wasnt rude. He was polite and curious. But damn it was weird.

Who the fuck DOES that??

stolen from spring

Your Score: Hot Tamale

You have an intellectual sexiness factor of 76!

You're hot! You've read a lot. You've done a lot, and there's a lot you'd like to try in the future. You've got a sharp, sexy mind, and few inhibitions to restrain you from exploring all the pleasure you can get. You have few hang-ups, and there's not much you don't know about sex. You're open-minded and able to enjoy things that would make a lesser person squeamish.

You're an exceptional treat as a lover, appreciated greatly by those who know the differnce. You were probably bored with a few of the people you've been with in your past, feeling like you had to drag them along with you in the sexual adventures you want to have, and probably dumping them for the same reason. It takes a lot to stimulate you; you realize it's not just about bumping uglies. In the end there's gotta be a lot more to it.

Still, there is always room for improvement. Before you can graduate into a true sexual genius, there are a few things you've got to learn, to explore, to think through, talk through, and fuck through. A good place to start is in taking a look at the few things you're still a little hesitant to try. Break down you're last few barriers and discover the outer sexual frontiers, and you'll become a master.

Which action hero am i? Stolen from Spring

Which Action Hero Are You?

You are part Chuck Norris. You fight for truth and justice with a custom truck and a never-ending supply of roundhouse kicks to the face! At the peak of your career you had your own cartoon, but what you'll be remembered for is a never ending supply of internet one-liners.
You are part MacGyver. Ingenuity is your game. Don't leave home without your sundry office supplies: rubber bands, paper clips, and the like. Life and death situations are your forte, but you may be getting too old for it. In today's eyes you're an old legend, but your first season mullet will always be remembered.

Hah!! Stole it from Spring!

You're Florida!

You like butterflies, hate franchises, and for some reason really have it
in for this guy you know named Chad. You're almost certainly old and have retired,
either because of age or wealth. Sometimes you like to sit back and watch some Disney
films, while other times you're big on the Crocodile Hunter (though you really wish he
were hunting alligators instead). You wear sunscreen at all times, even indoors, and can
never seem to get the sand out of your shoes. Yes, you're a little bit spacy. It would
help everyone out if you would finally learn to count.

I have 4 1 day/2park ticket coupons for $40 a piece.  Thats a coupon for admission into 2 universal parks for $40.  There are 4 left.   The only thing is because Jason received them in the mail as a promotion from Universal, you have to have him actually get the tickets for you.  We are going to be there tomorrow, July 28th, with our 5 year old daughter.  Anyone interested in coming along? Should be a blast.  We are also doing Disney on sunday, but i have no coupons for that.
